Odion Ighalo’s goal that everyone is talking about

Before the pandemic lockdown, Odion Ighalo won Manchester United’s Goal-of-the-Month award for the month of March. According to Manutd, He got 32 percent of all the votes due to his sparkling effort against LASK in the Europa League. The goal was just so impressive that you need to re-watch if you missed the match. In fact, you can’t be bored seeing it over and over again. To be sincere, I never expected such professionalism, tactics, dribbling, and finishing from him. Well, I accept Odion is good but his display against LASK on March 12, 2020, was far beyond my expectation. In my own observation, he has never been so confident with the ball like he did that day. Well, I might be exaggerating or underestimating him but truly, I am honest with my argument. That goal was so impressive. It actually opened the scoring door against the Austrians. As in, they were beaten mercilessly (5:0).

Here is the goal you have been anticipating.

Don’t forget, Odion Ighalo, 31years, is on loan extension from Shanghai Greenland Shenhua of the Chinese Super League and presently strikes for the English Premier League club Manchester United. Although, he is yet to start a Premier League match for the Red Devils since his arrival at Manchester United in January 2020. However, Ighalo has scored four goals in the first three games and has only made nine appearances across all the competitions. No wonder, his loan extension that was supposed to be completed on May 31 was extended till next January 2021.

Ighalo made his debut for the Nigerian national team in March 2015 against Uganda. He represented the nation at the 2018 World Cup and was the highest goal scorer in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualification campaign. He eventually led Nigeria to a third-place finish at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, where he finished in the competition’s Team of the Tournament and was crowned top scorer.

We can’t but celebrate him for his achievements and wish him more.
