These are disturbing times for those of us who are still here (on Earth) as another great Kingdom Giant exits the scene to join those who have also gone to be with the Lord. This exit is no other but that of the International Pentecostal evangelist Morris Cerullo. It will be recalled that not quite long ago, the world witnessed the exit of the international Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke. All these seem like a proverb.
Before his death at 88 (1931-2020) on July 10, 2020, Morris Cerullo was reported on Facebook by his family to be receiving treatment for pneumonia at a hospital in California. The day before his death, his family wrote:
“Dear Friends, we would appreciate your immediate prayers for Dr. Cerullo who is being treated for Pneumonia at the hospital,” the post read. “Please also pray for Theresa who has been working around the clock to assist in his care. She needs your prayers too for extra strength at this time. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers for Morris and Theresa!”
Little did the world know that he was waving goodbye as he would leave the following day.
Again, the family of the international evangelist wrote on Instagram on Saturday, announcing his death:
“Today we remember the incredible life of this great man. Your Legacy will live on”
Being an evangelist used of God in the area of the supernatural, Cerullo authored more than 80 books about God’s supernatural moves. He also wrote an autobiography called The Legend of Morris Cerullo: How God Used an Orphan to Change the World.
On the autobiography, Cerrulo said:
“The autobiography goes back to my roots. Most people, they see Morris on the platform, I’ve been in India with 500,000 people in one service, and they see me up on the platform but they don’t know the real me. And so I wanted to let them know how I have experienced the grace of God in my own life, how God took a little orphan boy who lost his mother when I was 2 years of age and had a drunken father who deserted five children, and how the hand of God, so mysteriously from the time I was a little boy, was on my life and how God led me through the Jewish Orthodox orphanages that I was placed.”
Morris Cerullo’s Legacy
The widely traveled evangelist said God asked him “Son, do you know prophets never retire?” According to him, God then gave him the idea for the Morris Cerullo Legacy and Training Center. It’s an outfit in San Diego to train evangelists from around the world. His ministry recently opened a $200 million religious-themed resort and conference center in San Diego.
Speaking about the San Diego training center, Cerrulo said:
“San Diego has been my home since 1959 and I’m thrilled to bring this vision to life in such a vibrant community, San Diego is a diverse city and we look forward to welcoming people of all cultures, faiths, and backgrounds to experience Legacy International Center.”
Morris Cerullo’s Worldwide Ministry
Cerullo, by virtue of his evangelistic calling, had an itinerary ministry, thus making him travel around the world, impacting nations with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
