Today, we celebrate an amazing woman, Mercy Chinwo. She is truly an exceptional Nigerian gospel musician, singer, and songwriter. Some of her powerful songs include “The Cross: My Gaze” with viral hits like “Excess Love”, “Bor Ekom”, “Omekannaya” “Chinedum” “Akamdinelu” “Obinasom” and the latest song “Satisfied“ which was released on the 3rd of July, 2020 by her label record Eezee Conceptz who signed her since 2017.
Do you know that Mercy Chinwo was the winner of the Nigerian Idol Season 2 in 2012? Do you know that she is just 29 years old? And Brothers, hope you know she is still single? 😁
Chinwo, born on 5 September 1992 in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, and the fourth child in a family of five is a very interesting and exciting woman to be with. In fact, it is not wrong to also call her a comedian. Of course, she is an actress actually 😳; see the video below and see If I dey lie 🤪 🤪 🤪

Mercy got involved in music at a very early age, being a dedicated member of the children’s choir in her church and transitioned to the adult choir prior to launching her musical career. She is an example of the saying “Do not despise the days of little beginning”.
In 2018, due to her prowess, Mercy Chinwo was awarded the Best Gospel Artiste at the CLIMAX Awards. Also, at the Africa Gospel Awards Festival (AGAFEST 2019), she came on top of all and won in three categories: Africa Gospel New Artiste of the Year, Africa Gospel Female Artiste of the Year, and Africa Gospel Song of the Year (Excess Love). Notably, the categories she won contained the likes of Sinach, Prospa Ochimana, and Tim Godfrey. Incredibly, she is one of the women under 30 years of age doing so much for God and impacting her generation. Although Chinwo lost her father when she was very young, she never allowed the condition to limit her aspiration. She never allowed anyone to set an edge of barriers around for being a girl.
What a woman worth emulating.
Mercy is our woman of the week and we celebrate her for her achievement and her new release Satisfied.
Lesson: It is time to support our girls, it is time to fight against discrimination, gender inequality, and racism. It is time to create an environment safe for our children to thrive and be what they chose to be.
We love you Mercy Chinwo!
