What do you think about the Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo ongoing Debate? The age-old question which has started another trend recently is possibly never going to end anytime soon. Well, it is possible you have an answer to it. Many have argued that Messi is better off while others prefer Ronaldo. Although, their welcome back game after the Pandemic break proved to be in favour of Messi. He really enjoyed his return game much more than Ronaldo did. The Argentinian scored once and set up two goals as Barcelona cruised to a 4-0 win against Mallorca. He also moved to his 699 career goals by scoring a penalty during Barcelona’s 2-0 win over Leganes on Tuesday night. Ronaldo, unfortunately, missed a penalty and looked very rusty in Juventus’ 0-0 draw against AC Milan last week Friday. And to worsen it for him, he lost a second consecutive final for the first time in his career when Juventus lost to Napoli in the Coppa Italia decider yesterday Wednesday, June 17, 2020. This was after a goalless draw in the normal 90mins time. Napoli secured the trophy in a penalty shootout, beating the Old Lady 4-2.

It is obvious things are not working for Ronaldo as he might have expected but does that mean Messi is really better than him? According to Sportbible, Bernardo Silva gave his take on the Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo debate but couldn’t give a definitive answer to the age-old question. The Manchester City midfielder has had the pleasure of playing with Ronaldo for the Portugal national team but as a nifty left-footed attacking player, he also appreciates the genius of Messi. And when asked for who he prefers, the former Monaco man refused to budge and instead said we should feel blessed to have lived in an era where we get to see these two titans do their thing.
It is worth noting that despite the odds Ronaldo might be facing, he is still the first footballer in history to record an astonishing $1bn in career earnings.
Anyway, who is your choice among the two heroes? Kindly join the debate!
